Here are the outfits the royals wore during the coronation of King Charles, ranging from classic robes to colorful ensembles

Royals and visitors donned a variety of vibrant clothes for the coronation of Britain's King Charles III on Saturday, filling London's Westminster Abbey with a combination of colours and patterns. These included conventional robes and spectacular headpieces.

The king came in a red coronation tunic, a cream silk overshirt, and royal navy pants. He was also wearing the crimson velvet Robe of State that his grandfather King George VI wore to be crowned in 1937.

To be crowned, he dressed into the ceremonial regalia used by his predecessors, including the full-length Supertunica coat made of gold silk, the Coronation Sword Belt, and the Imperial Mantle made of gold fabric, the oldest vestment in the service and first created for the coronation of George IV in 1821.

His right hand was given a white leather glove that was embellished with gilded metal thread.

The traditional St. Edward's Crown, which has been worn since King Charles II's coronation in 1661, was used to crown Charles.

The late Queen Elizabeth's 1953 Robe of State was worn by Queen Camilla over an ivory dress by British designer Bruce Oldfield that was embroidered with silver and gold flowers.

Both departed the Abbey wearing purple Robes of Estate—Charles', which had previously been worn by George VI, and Camilla's, which was made by the Royal School of Needlework and had embroidery inspired by the natural world.

According to a statement from Buckingham Palace, “insects including bees, butterflies, a beetle, and caterpillars are included on the Coronation Robe for the first time, drawing on themes of nature and the environment and expressing Their Majesties' respect for the natural world.

William and Catherine, the Prince and Princess of Wales, donned formal robes and mantels over their attire, with the heir to the throne donning the ceremonial dress uniform of the Welsh Guards and his wife donning an ornate headpiece fashioned of silver and crystal leaves in place of a tiara.

She and her daughter Charlotte both wore white silk crepe dresses by Alexander McQueen, the same designer who created Kate Middleton's 2011 wedding gown. The dresses were embellished with embroidered rose, thistle, daffodil, and shamrock patterns as an homage to the United Kingdom's four countries.

The Princesses Beatrice, Eugenie, Zara, and Lady Louise donned skirts or jackets with fuchsia, blue, and flowery designs, while Charles' siblings dressed in traditional robes as well.

Prince Harry, who is no longer a working royal, was dressed in morning wear.

The American singer Katy Perry, who will play at the coronation performance in Windsor on Sunday, was among the prominent visitors wearing a fitting lilac short-sleeved skirt suit with matching opera gloves and a dramatic hat. Actress Emma Thompson was also there wearing a scarlet coat decorated with rose patterns.

Different hues of blue were chosen by seasoned actors Maggie Smith and Judi Dench, who has played both Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth I on television.

Singers Lionel Ritchie and Nick Cave donned three-piece black suits to the event on Sunday, while actor Stephen Fry provided some color with a yellow waistcoat.

Peers donned crimson robes, and there were traditional clothes from all around the Commonwealth.

The first ladies of the United States and France, Jill Biden and Brigitte Macron, respectively wore pastel pink and powder blue gowns, while Olena Zelenska, the first lady of Ukraine, wore a dress and coat in the same shade of sage.

The Abbey was covered with vibrant statement hats and fascinators in shades of fuchsia, orange, and scarlet.
