Pandya returns to the Mumbai Indians as captain for the 2024 season after leading the Gujarat Titans the previous two seasons. After leading the Mumbai Indians to five championships, Rohit was unexpectedly replaced by Pandya for the 2024 season.

He will always be there to support me, so nothing will change. What this team has accomplished has happened because of him, and all I have to do is continue that. In an interview with the media here, Pandya said, “He is going to have his hand on my shoulders.”

“We honor fans, but we keep our attention on the game and the necessities.” I concentrate on the observable. When questioned about the supporters’ indignation about Rohit’s dismissal, he said, “Fans have every right, and I respect their opinion.”

The famous all-rounder, who sustained an ankle injury during the ODI World Cup at home in October, will be returning to elite cricket with the IPL after a protracted recuperation.

“My body is OK, and I want to play every game. I haven’t missed many games in the IPL, however. I was absent for three months, technically. It was an unusual wound. My prior injuries were unrelated to it. I ended up getting hurt trying to stop the ball,” Pandya added.

The 30-year-old had immediate success as the Gujarat Titans’ captain, and now that he’s back with the well-known Mumbai team, there’s little doubt that he’ll add more hardware to their trophy case.

“Indians in Mumbai will always have expectations. Our attention must be on the procedure. Tomorrow is not going to be my day. We’ll have to wait two months to find out how we come together and get ready. We’re going to perform something that everyone will like,” he said.

In addition, Rohit’s future position was questioned by head coach Mark Boucher, who was seated next to Pandya during the media session.

“Rohit has been doing well. Anticipating Ro to go out and freely express himself. He batted against England as we watched. He’s been hitting.500,” Boucher said.
