Current Apple Watch Issues: It seems that a number of people are reporting “ghost touches” on their Series 9 and Ultra 2 watches. As per an internal document issued with the Apple Authorized Service Providers, the two premium watches’ displays are affected by a touch-related problem. Citing the document, MacRumors said that Apple is “aware of” and “investigating” the possibility of “false touches” for certain customers.

According to Apple, the problem might cause the screen of the reported watches to “jump erratically” or behave unpredictably without requiring user input. This may also make it possible for the wearable to accidentally make calls and prevent users from entering their Apple Watch password.

The document said, “Some customers may report that their Apple Watch Series 9 or Apple Watch Ultra 2 is experiencing false touches on their display,” according to the article. The issue may be referred to by certain users as “ghost” touches. The manufacturer advised customers to maintain the most recent software update on their timepieces.

According to the source, Apple is “hopeful” that an impending watchOS version would include a patch for the impacted consumers. The effect level, the estimated period of resolution, and if hardware problems are to blame were not disclosed by the firm. Apple has instructed technicians not to perform repairs on specific devices until the firm conducts an investigation into the issue.

Owners of these watches must wait for the Apple logo and press and hold the side button and Digital Crown for about ten seconds in order to forcibly restart their devices. Users may wait for the watchOS 10.4 upgrade or a small update in the 10.3 version if this does not resolve the problem.

To put things in perspective, the Series 9 has an Always-On Retina OLED LTPO screen that can reach a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits. The Always-On Retina OLED LTPO flat sapphire crystal display on the Watch Ultra 2, on the other hand, has a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits. The devices are equipped with a S9 SiP processor.
