During Australia vs. Pakistan Test, MCG Crowd Startles Couple by Raising the Camera

On the third day of the second Test between Australia and Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday, the Australians mounted a valiant recovery. Australia took control of the second Test against Pakistan when Mitchell Marsh scored a counterattacking 96 on Thursday in a valiant rescue effort alongside a tenacious Steve Smith.

Australia had taken a 241-run advantage at that point. After dismissing Pakistan for 264 in response to their first innings 318 in Melbourne, the hosts were in serious trouble at 16-4. However, Marsh and Smith worked hard to put up a combination that may save the game by 153 runs.

On the second day of the match, there was another humorous incident when the cameraman zoomed over to where a couple was seated in the audience. The MCG crowd was cheering them on, but they were unprepared. While Pakistan was batting, the footage was captured.

The hosts were 187-6 at stumps on day three when Smith was dismissed for 50, from 176 balls, in the last over of the day, leaving Alex Carey undefeated on 16.

Mir Hamza and Shaheen Shah Afridi each claimed three wickets.

When Marsh was 20, Abdullah Shafique revealed a legal catch in the slips, but it might have been a different tale.

Marsh was finally dismissed four runs short of a well-earned century, but not before Agha Salman produced an incredible one-handed diving grab at slip.

“It hurts at the end, obviously,” Marsh said on Smith’s termination. “However, from 16–4, we would have accepted a 240–run advantage at the conclusion of the game if you had informed us.

He went on, “It’s evenly poised.” “As we saw, I think there’s still enough in the wicket so add a few more runs tomorrow and we’ll give it our all.”

Following Pakistan’s defeat by Cummins (5-48) and Nathan Lyon (4-73), Australia had to navigate a challenging 15-minute morning session.

However, Usman Khawaja was out for a duck on the second ball after spearhead Afridi was caught behind by Mohammad Rizwan.

At lunch, the hosts were down 6-2 when Marnus Labuschagne scored a legside five, using the identical sequence of strokes once again.

David Warner opened the scoring with a drive to the boundary off Afridi when they came back, but he was out of luck when he was hit by a delivery from Mir Hamza onto his stumps at six.

The Melbourne Cricket Ground gave him a standing ovation as he left the field for the last time as a batter. His lengthy career is expected to come to an end with the third Test in Sydney. The hosts’ situation worsened when Travis Head was removed by Hamza’s inswinging yorker, leaving Australia at 16-4.

However, Marsh stopped the hat-trick attempt and, together with Smith, dug in to lessen the attack’s pain.

Cummins scores five.

Marsh hit three boundaries in four balls after Aamer Jamal entered the field, relieving more strain before Shafique’s ill-fated attempt. Smith, who took 101 balls to get his first boundary and go on to score a hard-fought 40th Test half-century, was a vital supporting player.

Great Pakistani player Waqar Younis observed, “This was a big, big opportunity,” when providing analysis for the Shafique mistake.

“This might be the difference between winning and losing this game.”

Pakistan started the day at 194-6 after a collapse from 124-1 in the last session on Wednesday thanks to an outstanding performance from Cummins, and the captain of Australia was once again in the heart of things.

Rizwan added 13 to his overnight total of 29 with a solid start.

He was unable to compete with the astute Cummins, however, who lured him into a drive that went directly to Warner, who had just been moved to take cover from slip.

It caused Jamal to start playing his shots, ending their 45-run alliance. Afridi, his new partner, hit four boundaries before Lyon’s spin got the better of him, trapping him for a 21-run innings. At one point in his 33 not out, Jamal found the ropes three times in six balls, demonstrating excellent touch.

After bowling Hasan Ali for two runs and having Hamza stumped for the same amount of runs, Cummins claimed his fifth wicket.
