Google adds auto accident detection to Pixel devices in India

Google is rolling out its auto accident detection technology, bringing it to India and a number of other nations. This function, which was first introduced on Pixel phones in the US in 2019, alerts emergency services automatically in the event that it notices a serious traffic accident.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-267431″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-google-adds-auto-accident-detection-to-pixel-devices-in-india-google-pixel-8-pro-1.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com google adds auto accident detection to pixel devices in india google pixel 8 pro 1″ width=”1325″ height=”746″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-google-adds-auto-accident-detection-to-pixel-devices-in-india-google-pixel-8-pro-1.jpg 549w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-google-adds-auto-accident-detection-to-pixel-devices-in-india-google-pixel-8-pro-1-390×220.jpg 390w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-google-adds-auto-accident-detection-to-pixel-devices-in-india-google-pixel-8-pro-1-150×84.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1325px) 100vw, 1325px” title=”Google adds auto accident detection to Pixel devices in India 6″>

How is the automobile collision detection function activated?

Your handset has to be operating on Google’s premium Pixel phones in order for it to be able to utilize this function. Furthermore, it is only functional inside the SIM-holding nation of your phone; roaming is not supported. When Battery Saver is turned on or in Airplane mode, car collision detection is not functional.

1. Turn on your phone’s Personal Safety app.

Then, press “Features.”

Move your cursor down to “Car Crash Detection.”

4. Press “Set up.” To disclose your location when asked, choose “Allow while app is in use.”

5. Select “Allow” when asked to share your microphone and movements.

How is the detection of auto crashes done?

In order to identify possible serious auto collisions, automotive crash detection uses information from motion sensors, surrounding noises, and phone location.

For it to work, it needs certain permissions related to location, movement, and microphone access. Your Pixel phone may use Android’s Emergency position Service to immediately contact emergency services in the case of a detected accident, giving them information about your position and the circumstances.

What happens if the crash is detected by your Pixel phone?

When you activate auto accident detection, your phone can identify serious collisions and notify you in a number of ways right away. When that happens, your phone will vibrate, sound an alert, and ask you if you need help both visually and audibly via a prompt on the screen.

You will be given the choice to either contact emergency services or end the call if you answer within 60 seconds.

Making an emergency service call:

• If you have Emergency Sharing enabled, you may either express “Emergency” or use the appropriate slider to “Call 911 & notify contacts”.

• By default, your phone will turn on the speakerphone.

To hang up the phone:

Speak “Cancel” or press “I’m OK.”

• An emergency call won’t be placed on your phone.

If you don’t reply in the next sixty seconds:

• When an automobile collision occurs, your phone will immediately turn on the speakerphone, try to contact emergency services, report the incident, and share the approximate position of your device.

• You have the ability to talk over the repeating message. To end the call and stop the message, hit “Cancel.”
