However, the Kopa Trophy honors his efforts from the previous campaign. Bellingham scored 14 goals in 42 games during his last season with Borussia Dortmund, helping them finish second in the Bundesliga. Additionally, he assisted England in making it to the World Cup quarterfinals in Qatar.

After accepting his award, Bellingham told AFP and other media, “I am really grateful to Dortmund for the opportunities they gave me over the years and especially last year, to be a leading player and someone who helped the team to win games.”

“I believe I handled that responsibility pretty well, and all in all, I believe I had a good year, so I’m happy,” the speaker remarked.

The winner of the prize named for former Real Madrid and France great Raymond Kopa is him, followed by midfielder Gavi of Barcelona and Spain.

The men’s Ballon d’Or winners cast their votes for Kylian Mbappe and Matthijs de Ligt, two other past winners of the honor.

In addition, Bellingham came in at number eighteen in the vote for the Ballon d’Or, which is football’s most coveted individual award.

Now that he’s comfortable in Spain, Bellingham wants to have the sort of season where he can compete seriously for the Ballon d’Or next year, both with his club and his nation.

When asked about his goals for the next months, he said, “The aim is to try and win everything with England and with Madrid.”

“It is crucial that I make an effort to devote all of my current resources to that.”

“I am definitely confident, we are one of the favourites going into the tournament now and it is important that we quit the talking and finally perform in front of our fans,” he said, speaking on England’s chances at the next European Championship in Germany.
