<p>On September 21, 2023, the 10th season of the Indian Super League is scheduled to begin with a Southern Derby between Kerala Blasters FC and Bengaluru FC.</p>

<p>The first game is a rematch of the semifinal from the previous season, which produced the notorious KBFC walk-off incident and gave BFC a victory by walkover and a clean path to the championship game.</p>
<p>Following a contentious Sunil Chhetri strike that the Serbian head coach believed was made prior to the call, Ivan Vukomanovic, the head coach of KBFC, gave his squad the order to leave the field. Due to his acts, the coach has been subject to disciplinary measures and has been given a 10-game suspension.</p>
<p>The team to beat appears to be the defending champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant, who recently won the Durand Cup as well. This is especially true now that the team has recruited quality international players like Jason Cummings and Armando Sadiku in addition to seasoned Indians Anwar Ali, Anirudh Thapa, and Sahal Abdul Samad.</p>
<p>When the new season begins, Juan Ferrando will try to keep up his recent success, while Des Buckingham, the coach of Mumbai City FC, will try to build on his outstanding campaign from the previous year and win the championship this time. The Englishman takes over the Islanders for another season in the hopes of winning trophies.</p>
<p>The season is particularly noteworthy because we get to see Punjab FC move up to the top division after their outstanding I-League campaign gained them promotion to the ISL. The newbies will want to make a positive impression on their first try.</p>
<p>The relationship between Chennaiyin FC and English manager Owen Coyle has been renewed. Coyle will want to start the season off well and progress from there.</p>
