Arleen Sorkin, an actress best known for lending her recognizable voice to Harley Quinn in the beloved animated series “Batman: The Animated Series,” has passed away at the age of 67.

Her fellow experienced voice actor Neil Kaplan announced the news of Sorkin’s passing on X (previously Twitter), writing: “It hurt my heart to learn… the original voice of Harley Quinn, (Arleen) Sorkin, had died away. I admired her work on Days of Our Lives as both HQ and Calliope.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-150498″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-download-2023-08-28t172833.345.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com download 2023 08 28t172833.345″ width=”1229″ height=”825″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-download-2023-08-28t172833.345.jpg 274w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-download-2023-08-28t172833.345-150×101.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1229px) 100vw, 1229px” title=”Arleen Sorkin, a 67-year-old voice actress for Harley Quinn, has died 6″>

James Gunn and Mark Hamill were just two of the many individuals who paid her respect after her passing.

James Gunn wrote the following message on his X: “Rest in peace Arleen Sorkin, the incredibly talented voice of Harley Quinn, who helped to create the character that so many of us love.”

We are devastated to hear that the bright and gifted Arleen Sorkin has passed away, commented Mark Hamill, who collaborated with her and provided the famous voice of the Joker in the television series. A nice person in addition to having a fantastic gift. I’m happy to have known her and worked with her in addition to being her friend. My sincere sympathies go out to her family and close friends.

The character of Harley Quinn, the Joker’s crazy lover and accomplice in crime, was created specifically for the show before becoming a comic book character owing to her enormous popularity, and Arleen Sorkin was the first person to ever voice her.

This was also because Sorkin’s own voice, which gave Joker’s girlfriend a cartoonishly fun but somewhat insane voice, instantly won over fans.

next this, Sorkin continued to portray Quinn in the next years’ episodes of “The New Batman Adventures,” “Superman: The Animated Series,” “Gotham Girls,” “Static Shock,” and “Justice League.” She also provided the voice for the role in the films “Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker” and the video games “Batman: Arkham Asylum,” “Batman: Arkham City,” and “Batman: Arkham Knight.”

After legendary voice actor and ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy passed away last year, Sorkin is the second original cast member of the show to pass away.
