The highly awaited Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan will take place in Sri Lanka, according to IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal.

The Indian squad, lead by Rohit Sharma, will not be visiting Pakistan, BCCI secretary Jay Shah previously said, citing security concerns as the cause.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-71695″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-ipl-president-arun-dhumal-reaffirms-that-india-wont-visit-pakistan-for-the-asia-cup-and-announces-the-schedule-trogds-d-11zon-750×422.png” alt=”” width=”1651″ height=”929″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-ipl-president-arun-dhumal-reaffirms-that-india-wont-visit-pakistan-for-the-asia-cup-and-announces-the-schedule-trogds-d-11zon-750×422.png 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-ipl-president-arun-dhumal-reaffirms-that-india-wont-visit-pakistan-for-the-asia-cup-and-announces-the-schedule-trogds-d-11zon-1024×576.png 1024w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-ipl-president-arun-dhumal-reaffirms-that-india-wont-visit-pakistan-for-the-asia-cup-and-announces-the-schedule-trogds-d-11zon-768×432.png 768w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-ipl-president-arun-dhumal-reaffirms-that-india-wont-visit-pakistan-for-the-asia-cup-and-announces-the-schedule-trogds-d-11zon-390×220.png 390w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-ipl-president-arun-dhumal-reaffirms-that-india-wont-visit-pakistan-for-the-asia-cup-and-announces-the-schedule-trogds-d-11zon-150×84.png 150w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-ipl-president-arun-dhumal-reaffirms-that-india-wont-visit-pakistan-for-the-asia-cup-and-announces-the-schedule-trogds-d-11zon.png 1280w” sizes=”(max-width: 1651px) 100vw, 1651px” />

Dhumal is in Durban for the Chief Executives Meeting (CEC) of the ICC. He revealed that Shah had a meeting with Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), to finalize the timetable before the meeting on Thursday.

The Asia Cup schedule was finalized and is proceeding as planned when our secretary met with PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf. There will be four league games in Pakistan, then nine games in Sri Lanka, including an India-Pakistan encounter and maybe a third if both sides get to the final, according to Dhumal.

He also denied rumors that the Indian squad had visited the neighboring nation, as alleged by Ehsan Mazari, their sports minister.

“Such a talk wasn’t conducted. Contrary to rumors that have emerged, neither India nor our secretary will be visiting Pakistan. Only the timetable was decided upon, Dhumal said.

There will probably be a game between India and Pakistan at Dambulla. Pakistan will face Nepal at home in their lone domestic match.

Afghanistan vs. Bangladesh, Bangladesh vs. Sri Lanka, and Sri Lanka vs. Afghanistan are the other three games that will be played in Pakistan.
