Updated IPL 2023 Points Table Following PBKS vs. DC: Delhi Capitals Move Up to 9th Position, Hurting Punjab Kings' Chances of Making Playoffs

at an IPL 2023 match at Dharamshala, Delhi Capitals did all they could to give Punjab Kings a free pass to chase down 214. Even though PBKS gave it their all, they were unsuccessful. They lost catches, failed to complete run outs, and went for a lot of runs in the slog overs.
On 35, Atharva Taide was dropped. Before he retired, he earned 55.
On 3, Liam Livingstone was omitted. With little to no help from the other hitters, he almost got PBKS across the finish line with a 94 off 48 blast, but his work was in vain as the home club finished on 198/8.
Both of the catches—which were both quite easy chances—were lost off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav.
However, DC will be pleased with the consolation victory. Their batters had a dazzling performance to start the match. David Warner, the captain, scored a respectable 46 while Prithvi Shaw hit his maiden fifty of the year.
But Rilee Rossouw wins the prize with an explosive 82 off 37, which helped DC to their first 200-plus total of the season.
IPL Points Chart
Thus, PBKS lost a chance to move higher in the IPL 2023 rankings and are all but eliminated from contention for the playoffs. To maintain optimism, they needed victories in their last two games as well as an increase in net run rate. They are now dependant on others due to the most recent defeat, however.
The team coached by Shikhar Dhawan is still in seventh place.
DC, on the other hand, have managed to claw their way to the top of the heap. After five victories, they have a total of 10, two more than Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are now ranked tenth.
Citrus Cap
The top six leading run scorers are still the same. With 631 runs, Faf du Plessis holds the Orange Cap. His closest rivals, who are now ranked second and third respectively, are Shubman Gill (576) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (575) respectively.
Warner, though, has now scored 400 runs for the season and has 430 runs through 13 innings, moving him up to seventh place in the race.
Violet Cap
With 23 wickets from 13 games, Mohammed Shami has maintained his lead. Rashid Khan, a teammate from the Gujarat Titans, is second owing to a difference in economy rate with 23 wickets.
Yuzvendra Chahal, third on the list, with 21 wickets.
